Emotions are important, necessary, instructive - AND energy. In EMYoga, we like to define emotions as energy in motion. They are part of our survival mechanism, giving us information and instant feedback to what is happening around us. Yes, life can deal an onslaught of events or interactions that give rise to fear, anger, anxiety, stress, worry and grief. We’ve all heard “the issues are in the tissues” or “the body keeps the score,” and many more all-important and valid concepts. Here is an outline of the course week-by-week:

  • Week 1: Introduction and the Template Practice

    Broaden your understanding of energy and Energy Medicine, and how EMYoga serves as the conduit to release the physical and emotional holds that stress and trauma have on our lives. This foundational knowledge is the gateway in to grasping that trauma is also energy, presenting itself in a multitude of ways. This week you will learn The Template Practice that all the other weeks will build on.

  • Week 2: Raise Your Courage with Water

    All life begins in water, as does healing; it is the universal solvent. When your Water element is balanced, you are able to release fear and become strong enough to hold your experiences. Discover your courage to step back into life.

  • Week 3: Speak Your Truth with Wood

    No one ever wants to be labeled as an angry person, but this emotion can guide you into assertiveness, giving you the power to speak your truth. This is the value of the element of Wood, allowing you to stand tall as a warrior of the heart, leading the charge into the battles that need to be fought to create positive change.

  • Week 4: Transform with Fire

    If you put something into a fire, it transforms very quickly. This is the power of the Fire element. Here you learn to balance the anxiety, that like a wildfire, can quickly burn out of control. You’ll work to strengthen your whole framework in order to build your resiliency, giving space for love, inspiration and joy to grow.

  • Week 5: Learn to Love Again with Earth

    The element of Earth is all about turning the mirror back onto yourself; making YOU primary. This is not an indulgence, it’s a necessity - a practice of coming back home to the self; a process of rediscovering what feeds you. An invitation to recommit to yourself, a permanent vow of the heart for only you.

  • Week 6: Find Faith with Metal

    The last turn of the elemental wheel brings you to the Metal element. The universal lesson here is finding faith and letting go. We'll explore detoxification, elimination, exhalation, and trust. It's an invitation to spiral up out of your cycle of trauma to wholeness.

  • Week 7: The Energy to Heal

    In this final week, we will weave all of the techniques together. You'll also learn new tools to customize your own practice. These variations and suggestions are to serve your distinct and specific needs. The goal is to help you continue on your individual path of healing, thriving, and moving toward your best self.
